Fall in Vegas

This year was the first year in a really long time that it felt truly Fall once October hit. Typically, for us, Vegas in the Fall is still around 100 degrees or so. I don’t think it actually begins to get cold until after Halloween. Or like last year, after Thanksgiving! Cold to us though is mid 70’s and low 60’s in the mornings! It's time to whip out them boots ladies! 😉

It was so nice this year because we had family come into town and it gave us more incentive to do these Fall Activities. Now really, you’re thinking what is there to do in Vegas? Lots of things! Pumpkin Patches are everywhere! Literally at every corner. Just google Stu Miller's Pumpkin Patch or Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch in Las Vegas. We found a really big one at the corner of Gibson near the Automall in Henderson. They had the biggest pumpkins I’ve ever seen! Granted, they were at least $20.00 a pop - haha. This Pumpkin Patch in particular had the big slides, a few spinning rides, a petting zoo and a cute choo-choo train that went around the haystacks in the middle of the Patch. The last few years we have gone to Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch near Rampart and that one is just as fun too!

We also had the pleasure of going to the Las Vegas Farm. This was our first time adventuring out there! It was so-o incredibly cute. They had a good selection of specialty pumpkins and squash along with homemade jams/jellies, local honey and fresh eggs right there from the Farm. They also had festival activities for the babes, a cow train for toddlers, pony rides, a maze and more! The boys really loved seeing all the variety of different animals and even getting the chance to feed them! My favorite was this sweetest cow! The best part about this place is that all of the proceeds go to abused animals. Check out their website for more information about location and their Fall Festival schedule here.

We also met with up with family and friends on a couple different occasions and carved pumpkins! You can find much much cheaper pumpkins anywhere other than the Pumpkin Patches. We got ours super cheap at Trader Joes. I’ve also seen them at any of the Home improvement stores, grocery stores, etc. Another cheap trick to carving is to also just going online and google “pumpkin carving stencil” and print out the stencil from home! Instead of buying the booklet and the tools you can just print them out for free and buy a re-usable pumpkin carving tool, like the one we got here!

This year we had so much going on that we just did not have the time to go to Springs Preserve Haunted Harvest. This is typically our annual tradition with our friends and their kiddos because it's so much fun! This is an all ages event and features trick-or-treat candy stations throughout their spooky decorated gardens. They also have games, mazes, a petting zoo, craft activities, train ride and much more!

We also did a couple yummy crafts at home that we picked up at your local grocery stores. My Godmother picked up the cutest Haunted Gingerbread House kit at Trader Joes and I found the coolest Pumpkin decorating kit at Smiths for under $10! It was nice for the boys to engage themselves in the holiday spirit without having to leave your home!
